Gilles Vonsattel, piano

Swiss-born pianist Gilles Vonsattel performs repertoire ranging from Bach's The Art of Fugue to the complete works for solo piano of Xenakis. He received his bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Columbia University and his master's degree from Juilliard School, where he worked with Jerome Lowenthal.  Mr. Vonsattel is an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Tara Helen O’Connor, flute

Flutist Tara Helen O'Connor is a charismatic performer sought after for her unusual artistic depth, brilliant technique, and colorful tone in music of every era. She is a founding memeber of the Naumburg Award-winning New Millennium Ensemble and a member of the woodwind quintet Windscate, teaches at the Gard College Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music, is professor of flute and head of the wind department of Purchase College Conservatory of Music.

Stephen Taylor, oboe

 Stephen Taylor, one of the most sought-after oboists in the country, holds the Mrs. John D. Rockefeller III solo oboe chair at the Chamber Music Society. He is entered in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and has been awarded a performer's grant from the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University.  Trained at The Juilliard School, he is a member of its faculty as well as of the Yale and Manhattan schools of music. Mr. Taylor plays rare Caldwell model Loree oboes.

David Shifrin, clarinet

A Yale University faculty member since 1987, clarinetist David Shifrin is artistic director of Yale's Chamber Music Society series and Yale in New York, a concert series at Carnegie Hall. He has been an Artist of the Chamber Music Society for 23 years and served as its artistic director from 1992 to 2004. Mr Shifrin is winner of the Avery Fisheer Prize, he is also the recipient of a Solo Recitalist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Peter Kolkay, bassoon

Peter Kolkay was the first bassoonist to win first prize at the Concert Artists Guild International Competition (2002), the first bassoonist to receive an Avery Fisher Career Grant (2004), and the first on his instrument to become a member of Chamber Music Society Two (2006-09). A native of Naperville, Illinois, Mr. Kolkay holds degrees from Lawrence University, the Eastman School of Music, and Yale University. He recently joined the faculty of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University as an associate professor of bassoon.

William Purvis, horn

Hornist William Purvis pursues a multifaceted career in the US and abroad as horn soloist, chamber musician, conductor, and educator. A passionate advocate of new music. He is a member of the New York Woodwind Quintet, the Orchestra of St. Luke', the Yale Brass Trio, and the Triton Horn Trio, and is an emeritus member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.  A Grammy Award winner, Mr Purvis has recorded extensively on numerous labels.  He is currently professor of horn and chamber music at the Yale School of Music, where he is also coordinator of winds and brasses, and serves as director of the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments.
